Naturally, all the text was in Japanese :p
The title screen was different in the original version than that which we saw in Dragon Warrior IV.
Most all of the names were changed in the U.S. release.
The game hints around that Alena and Cristo are sleeping together. Looks like they got a little romantic :)
The houses of healing were censored for religious content exactly as they had been in 2 and 3.
There was some occasional cursing in the original version which was apparantly too dangerous for our innocent American eyes to view ;)
