Dragon Fighter Quest: Descendent of Eccadairius! Chapter 03: "The Chosen Ones" Summery: Prince gains two more companions just before her embarks on his quest. Written by: LotoDW@aol.com (Prince Dragonas) *** 03 *** Princess Delena escorted Prince Dragonas out to the town of Melonia which was connected to the castle. "Who should we take?" Dragonas asked. "I know about everyone that lives here. Most of the men that don't work is drunkards. The ones that do work are reliable, but want an arm and a leg which means they want a lot of money." Princess Delena replied. She knew the townsfolk very well. "Okay, who then?" Dragonas asked. "Well, let's go to the eatery at ask the people who work there if they know anyone that is reliable." Delena suggested. "Okay." Dragonas replied. They walked to the eatery. It was a large building which was empty during the day, but busy at night. It was about dusk so, they would have a better chance of finding someone. Delena and Dragonas entered the Eatery. Delena went up to the person who ran the eatery. His name was Jonas. He was one of the most generous and nicest men you could ever meet. "Hey, Jonas. How's business going this evening?" Delena asked him. "Well, it's slow right now, but it'll pick up later." Jonas replied happily. "Jonas, we are looking for some companions. Do you know any?" Delena asked. "No. Sorry to say. All the drunkards has arrived and they aren't worth a hill of beans!" Jonas replied. Then an elfish looking soldier came. He went to Jonas. "Good sir, I am looking for the Prince of the Dragons. Have you seen him?" Lywos asked. Lywos wasn't just an elf. He was a soldier by profession. He served as captain of the guard of the king of the kingdom of the Hidden Elves, he was sent here on urgent business to seek help from the one that was prophesied as the 'dragon prince!' The following prophecy foretold about Dragonas: "And he shall have hidden powers that remain hidden, until he is exiled and he must discover for himself. His father shall disown him for not being like him." And another prophecy told this: "And he will lose the fight be put under a spell and also exiled to a faraway land." Lywos walked over to where Delena and Dragonas were sitting. "Are you the Dragon Prince?" Lywos asked. "Yes I am. My name is Prince Dragonas. How may I help you?" Dragonas asked. Our leader and king sent me to fetch you. He knew that you exist. So, he sent me. A giant named Atlas is threatening our kind, and he heard of you being foretold in prophecy and he knew that you lived in the western most part of Harmonia, so I was dispatched here. Will you go and help us out?" Lywos told the story and then asked him to aide the elves in defeating the giant. "Well, I can't return to my homeland right now, so I accept." Dragonas replied. "Thank you! I Lywos shall join your party!" Lywos thanked him. But then another follow came in. He was shorter and he carried an axe. He was a dwarf. He went to the manager of the eatery and he was told to go where Dragonas was in the eatery. "Are you Prince of Dragonas, true?" Doublosa the dwarf asked. "Yes, Prince Dragonas; the prince of dragons, yes. What do you need?" Dragonas asked him. "I came from Urimbatcho, a town that is on the ocean surrounded by a tiny bit of land attached from the mainland. It's not my home, but we dwarves trade with the humans there. When we arrived there, my comrades were killed by Brambosa; a human that hates ALL humans! You must help the humans there! I come from a small village east of here called Tuwok! Please I am begging you, to help me!" Doublosa pleaded. "Very well, I will help you also!" Dragonas answered. "Good, may the God of the Dwarves richly bless you!!! I too will accompany you!" Doublosa replied with extreme happiness. Dragonas smiled a faint smile. "Looks like we found some companions. Well then, let's return to my father for some final instructions." Princess Delena spoke to the three men with her. "Very well." Dragonas replied. The four walked back into the castle where King Litanyas was waiting. "You returned earlier than I planned you to return." King Litanyas replied. "Yes, sire." Prince Dragonas replied. "Now, son, just call me Uncle Litanyas. No, need being formal! We are both descended from the great Eccadairius. Just call me Uncle Litanyas. Okay?" King Litanyas asked. "Very well king... I mean Uncle Litanyas." Dragonas replied. "Now that you have your companions, I am arranged a banquet to be in your honor on the eve that you'll embark on your journey, so the guards will show you to your rooms and the banquet will be in one hour." Uncle Litanyas told them. "Very well uncle." Dragonas replied. The guards showed the other three to their rooms. Delena went to her chambers and waited there. Lywos knocked on the door of Dragonas wanting to see how he was doing. "Come in." Dragonas replied to the knock on the door. "Ah! Lywos! It's you." Dragonas answered as he opened the door. "I thought I would come and see how you are doing." Lywos spoke to Dragonas. "I am doing okay, but my mind is on my father. His actions plague me." Dragonas answered. "You must love your father a lot." Lywos replied in a concerned voice. "Yes, I do. He rejected me. Now I wonder how I can save him." Dragonas answered in a concerned tone. "I know of a way, but I do not know where it is or if it still exists. It's called by my kind; the Dragoon. A powerful sword that was forged by God, and also is said to be used by your ancestor Eccadairius. It was called the Dragon's Wing Sword. The holy stick and eight orbs of the powers forged it. These items were powers of the Earth. No one knows what happened to the sword. Many say that a king in the very far east owns the sword." Lywos explained the legend of the Dragoon. "The Dragoon?" Dragonas asked. "Yes, the Dragoon is the most powerful sword in all of Harmonia. If you can claim that sword, you will be the most powerful prince in the entire world!" Lywos replied. "I don't seek power to rule, only power to save my father from whatever ails him!" Dragonas replied. "That is a response from a true prince." Lywos added his comment. By this time, time had passed and it was time for dinner. "My father says 'come.' So, come with me!" Princess Delena told them. "Alright then." Dragonas replied. They made their way to a long 'U' shaped table Where the king was waiting. There he greeted them. "Welcome Dragonas, the son of Dracolonis; king of Dragonia. You are indeed a true son of Eccadairius the hero who saved the world of Harmonia many years ago. Tomorrow you will begin your journey to find out why your father has changed and not only that, but to help others in need. Dragonas, take my daughter on thy quest. She will be great help indeed!" King Litanyas spoke to Dragonas which by this time was sitting next to the king and Dragonas responded back to the king, "Thanks Uncle Litanyas. Your hospitality is great. Thank you." Dragonas was in a quiet mood and was thinking about his father. The night passed quickly and morning arrived quickly. Then the king called Dragonas and his party into his throne room. "The time has come, Dragonas and company! Go forth into the world And defeat evil that lurks..." King Litanyas started to speak then everything froze when a bright Light shone in the room... "Dragonas, listen to my voice! I am thy ancestor Eccadairius. A mysterious destiny awaits you! You'll meet new friends and gain great enemies. You must seek out the great and powerful sword called the Dragoon. I once used this sword to defeat a fiend of great evil. Also seek out the Orb of Eccadairius. It will be of great help to you. Also seek out why your father has rejected you. You will face many trials... good luck!" The voice of Eccadairius spoke to him and then it was gone. Everything returned to normal. "What was that?" King Litayas spoke to Dragonas. "I have been given a special mission. I must fulfill my destiny." Dragonas replied. "Then let me give you a parting gift. Here is 50 gold and my Guardsman also will give you a copper sword and leather armor. I wish you success." King Litayas spoke in a wishful manner. Dragonas and his new Friends left the castle of Melonia and began to fight the Oozes and Big Bugs that lived around in that area.
